ARTISTS BIO
Growing up on the scenic banks of the Milwaukee River in Wisconsin, just a few miles from the awe-inspiring shores of Lake Michigan created a lasting impression and love of nature for Michele. Using her creativity and learning from other artists, classes and life experiences she has enhanced her ability to share her vision.

After moving to Texas she concentrated on watercolor, was a member of the Watercolor Art Society-Houston, and used the concept of negative space to show the depth found in nature. Working in clay reinforced the enjoyment she finds in organic design. Michele is currently using acrylics and oils creating a style that explores the use of color and form to bring out the essence of nature.

In 2020 Michele won the logo design contest for the new Tomball Innovation Lab (TIL) at the Lone Star College-Tomball Community Library, Tomball, Texas.

ARTIST STATEMENT
"I thoroughly enjoy working in acrylics, although I painted many years in watercolor and also worked in clay for a time. I love the vibrancy of acrylic paint and the fact I can control the drying time and work faster for layering. I am always trying to improve my techniques as my style is somewhere in between realism and "tight" impressionism. I personally love the painterly style of impressionism but find I have a natural eye for detail and my work shows this in both large and small brush strokes. Painting natural scenery and landscapes is by far my favorite subject but I also enjoy thinking outside the box and adding an element of surprise to my art."
