A little something about me

Growing up amidst the picturesque landscapes of Wisconsin instilled in Michele a profound reverence for nature's beauty. With a bit of natural creativity she crafts her vision through the enchanting medium of art.
After embarking on a new chapter in Texas over 30 years ago, Michele found her artistic calling in Houston, where she embraced watercolors. Her journey led her to join WAS-H, the Watercolor Art Society of Houston, where she enjoyed workshops and classes guided by esteemed artists. As the years flowed on, her artistic palette expanded to include clay, acrylics, and a playful exploration of oils. Recently, a serendipitous gift of dried gourds sparked her imagination, prompting her to devote her creative energies to the intricate art of carving, woodburning, and dyeing gourds of various shapes and sizes. As a self-taught artist, Michele identifies as a practitioner of slightly loose realism, where the intricacies of detail come naturally as she works in color and form. Yet, she also revels in the allure of abstraction, a facet reflected in her whimsical decorated mannequin lamps and gourd creations. For five vibrant years, Michele showcased her talents at the local DaVinci Artists Gallery, a co-op in Tomball, Texas, until its closing in 2023. Michele has been a member of the Tomball and Conroe Art Leagues in the past. Currently she is a member of the Kettle Moraine Fine Arts Guild in Wisconsin. Michele spends her time between Texas and Wisconsin as she enjoys retirement and family. |
